Applying for Section 8 in Clearwater:
Applications for housing vouchers will only be accepted while the waiting list is open. Currently, the waiting list is closed, and the Clearwater Housing Authority (CHA) is not accepting new applications. The CHA does not reveal applicants' positions on the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Waiting List. However, applicants can verify their active status on the waiting list by using the HAB Owl system.
The wait time to receive assistance can be up to four years, depending on the funding provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The CHA will notify individuals via mail once they are selected from the list.
